[Machine Translation] The Time Within" was released on CD in 2004 and is now on LP for the first time. While many of his previous works were produced with a large group of musicians, this album was created using only a grand piano to realize his compositional ideas. The recording was done in a studio at his home in the middle of nature, overlooking a vast landscape, where he relaxed from start to finish, and included special techniques such as internal playing (from a grand piano to a piano that he normally does not use). (Matthias says, "It was a great pleasure for me to be able to create many unusual tones from the grand piano. The theme of this piece is an invitation to stay in dreams and emotions in order to find inner silence. The songs are spun with an awareness of the seconds, milliseconds, and moments of silence between each note and tone, and the result is an album that has become an important part of Matthias' long career.
