 Description
[Machine Translation] The CD series "Contemporary Japanese Composers" was launched in 1992 to fulfill the need for a systematic and sustained documentation of the works of Japanese composers, the fruits of their creative activities. The 55th release in the series is a collection of works by Azusa Fujii Takashi, who passed away the year before last. Born in Osaka in 1959, Fujii graduated from the Kunitachi College of Music and the Freiburg State University of Music. Her works have been performed in Japan and abroad, and she was actively involved in stage performances of eurythmy, and was active internationally in various genres. He served as a professor at Kunitachi College of Music for a long time, but passed away on January 8, 2018, at the age of 58, while still a professor in his current position. This CD contains a live recording of the concert "Memorial Concert for Composer Takashi Fujii Azusa" held on March 11, 2019, which was a retrospective of his achievements, as well as two orchestral works commissioned by Kunitachi College of Music. These six works, arranged in chronological order of composition, provide a good overview of Fujii's lifelong commitment to microtonal music. The content of this CD is a condensed version of the life of the highly respected musician Azusa Fujii, which includes a variety of trajectories leading up to his masterpiece from his last years, in which he realized truly original and rich music. Included is a memorial letter from Toshio Hosokawa, who studied with Fujii at the Freiburg College of Music as a young man. The virtuous character of the composer who died young is remembered.
