 Description
[Machine Translation] This is the second solo album by Tomoko Kageyama, a marimba and vibraphone player/singer/songwriter known for supporting Yuta Orisaka and Mori wa Ikiteiru. While her previous first album, "Hikari no dotei, kage no jikan" (Speed of Light, Time of Shadow), released in 2019, had a band sound, this second album was created around a simple narrative style of marimba and singing. Guest musicians include Kei Tainaka on sitar and guitar (Tr.03) and Kazutake Watanabe on clarinet (Tr.08), who also plays with Takuo Yamamoto's woodwind sextet Halocline and Kururi's recordings. Inspired by travel and nature, the songs on "Corona Disaster" are filled with a sense of positivity for the future of the world. The sound, which makes full use of the overtones of the heavy bass of the 5-octave marimba by engineer Kosuke Nakamura, who has also worked with Yuta Orisaka and Moka Satou, is suitable not only for music fans, but also for places of meditation and relaxation such as glamping and retreats in nature. The CD booklet includes lyrics and special liner notes by music director and critic Yuji Shibasaki.
