Description

A gem of stimulating visual beauty by Yasushi Nakahira (director), a genius who greatly influenced the French Nouvelle Vague, and Mariko Kaga (lead actress), a "little fairy" with a coquettish charm. The music is by Mayuzumi Toshiro, a modernist who is on a par with Nakahira. In addition to the well-known theme song, Mayuzumi's unique dance-jazz music (now a club hit), daydream-like sound effects, and a wide range of other styles color the film. The LP version released on Record Day 2017 sold out. Selected tracks from the masterpiece soundtrack, which still attracts much public interest more than half a century after its release, are now available as 7-inch cuts!
