¡Stowe School 1963[Limited Release]
¡The Beatles
Description
[Machine Translation] A 60-minute-long live performance at Stowe School, a prestigious boys' school in Buckinghamshire, England, two weeks after The Beatles released their debut album, has been discovered. The Beatles' single "Please Please Me" was a hit and their popularity in the U.K. was on the rise. David Moores, a student at the school, wrote to the Beatles and the school concert was held on April 4, 1963. John Bloomfield, a 15-year-old boy at the time, recorded the concert and kept it for 60 years (it is now in the British Library). Last month, it was brought to the BBC, and only four songs, "I Saw Her Standing There," "Too Much Monkey Business," "Memphis, Tennessee," and "Please Please Me," were broadcast in part. Now, here it is in its entirety, 60 minutes long. Includes a bonus CD with 21 of the best-sounding BBC live performances in the Stowe School song order. Includes detailed liner notes in Japanese and booklet.
