Description
Director Martin Scorsese's first film since 1999's Bringing Out the Dead is a sprawling epic of New York's violent past between 1846 and the1860's, around the time the Civil War broke out. The story is based on the true life conflict between the Anglo Saxon "native Americans" and the Irish immigrants coming into the Five Points on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Leonardo DiCaprio stars as an Irish lad who has sworn vengeance against Bill the Butcher (Daniel Day-Lewis), the man who killed his father. Cameron Diaz co-stars as a feisty pickpocket who teams up with him. A 2-disc set, including a bonus disc loaded with extras.
