 Description
[Machine Translation] The first DVD release of this ninjutsu adventure film starring the youthful Hiroki Matsukata! In the Warring States Period, Akechi Mitsuhide assassinated Oda Nobunaga at Honnoji Temple in Kyoto. Aiming for domination of the country, Mitsuhide turns his forces toward Tokugawa Ieyasu. At the same time, Iga no Kagemaru returns to his Iga village for the first time in three years to find his homeland transformed. The ninjas of Iga were cruelly killed by the seven Kouga warriors sent by Mitsuhide to annihilate the Iga-shu who had sided with Ieyasu. Kagemaru's father and chieftain, Hyakuchi Santayu, is mortally wounded, and when he tells Kagemaru to protect Ieyasu, he dies. Kagemaru takes on the seven Koga warriors who are determined to win the war... Based on the manga of the same title by Mitsuteru Yokoyama, which was serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday (published by Shogakukan) from 1961 to 1966. Hiroki Matsukata gives a youthful and passionate performance as Kagemaru of Iga, Kyoko Mikage as Ukyo, Kagemaru's lover, and Shingo Yamashiro as Amano Jyakki, the leader of the Kouga, whom Kagemaru opposes. Against the backdrop of a fierce ninja battle between the Iga and Kouga warlords that began with the assassination of Oda Nobunaga by Akechi Mitsuhide, the heroic Kagemaru, a young boy from Iga, makes full use of the art of kineha-gakure in this blood-curdling adventure ninjutsu film.
