Description
[Machine Translation] This TV drama series was produced in response to the "Bounty Hunter" movie series starring Tomisaburo Wakayama, released between 1969 and 1972. 22 episodes were broadcast from April to October 1975 on the NET (now TV Asahi) network. Set in the late Edo period (1603-1867), when public order was in disorder, the series depicts the hero Ichibei Shikoro as a bounty hunter. The drama's original setting is also a highlight: Shikoro Ichibei runs a terakoya, a school where he teaches children free of charge, and takes on jobs to earn money for the school. Following the film, Tomisaburo Wakayama gives a fine performance as Ichibei, a skilled bounty hunter with strong martial arts skills but a weakness for women.
