Description
DVD release of the film "Kanikousen" based on the novel in 1929 written by a proletarian writer Takiji Kobayashi. Stars Ryuhei Matsuda. A crab fishing ship Hakkomaru goes to sea off the coast of Kamchatka. On this ship, migrating workers work in harsh condition for low wages. The sadistic captain Asakawa doesn't treat them like humans, and workers die of malnutrition in sequence. One day, a worker Shinjo breaks away from Hakkomaru and is saved by Russian ship. He sees completely different world there and decided to change Hakkomaru's situation by uprising. However. . .
