Description
[Machine Translation] On June 20, 1963, 28 people, including leading Japanese intellectuals, politicians, and bureaucrats, gathered at the Nadaman ryotei restaurant in Tokyo. All of them were living their postwar lives with the harsh experiences of the war in their hearts. Over the course of five hours, each of the participants shared their memories of the war, revealing one by one the events that took place in the process from the Japanese government's response to the Potsdam Declaration, to the atomic bombings, to the Soviet Union's entry into the war, and to the end of the war, including the state of mind of each of the people involved. Could the tragedies of Hiroshima and Nagasaki have been averted if the Japanese government of the time had been more careful? Could it have prevented the Soviet Union from entering the war? But then, why couldn't they have done so? The statements made by each of the 28 individuals answer these questions and leave the viewer with a renewed sense of bitterness...
