 Description
[Machine Translation] A battle for revenge sparks across the Great Plains of the West in pursuit of the seven rogues who killed his beloved wife! --Former sheriff Ben Stride ( R. Scott ), whose beloved wife was killed in a robbery committed by a gang of seven rogues, is on the trail of the men in his quest for revenge. Along the way, he meets John Greer ( W. Reed ) and his wife Annie ( G. Russell ), a couple in a covered wagon, and they join him on the road to warn him of an attack by the Chiricahua tribe. At a deserted stagecoach stop, Stride reunites with Masters ( L. Marvin ), whom he had arrested twice in his former life as sheriff. When Stride asked Masters if he had any idea as to the whereabouts of the robbers, Masters replied that the gold they had taken was to be cashed in the town of Flora Vista. The next morning, he rescued a man who was being attacked by the Chiricahua tribe in the desert area, but the man was a member of the gang of ruffians. When he noticed Stride, he tried to shoot him in the back, but Masters shot him dead in the nick of time. This is a masterful Western by the golden trio of director Bud Boetticher, screenwriter Burt Kennedy, and star Randolph Scott. A road movie, it is set on the Great Plains and revolves around a former sheriff's revenge plot. Gail Russell, in the lead role, and Lee Marvin, in a supporting role, give memorable performances. Produced by Batjack Productions, founded by John Wayne.
