 Description
[Machine Translation] A traditional English public school where only children of selected prestigious families were allowed to study. They were absolutely obedient to the orders of their teachers and upperclassmen, and all the underclassmen were in the service of the upperclassmen. They were made to carry meals, shave, and, to top it off, heat the toilet seats. Mick ( M. McDowell ), Johnny ( D. Wood ), and Wallace ( R. Warwick ) were the dangerous elements among these obedient students who disrupted the order in the dormitory. They were always "free" without regard for the penalties. They stole a motorcycle and rode around the suburbs, or kissed a girl ( C. Noonan ) in a cafe out of the blue. One day, however, Mick and his friends were punished by the upperclassmen with a caning for their repeated misbehavior. Mick in particular was whipped for a long time. This led Mick and the others to start resisting, and they fired their guns during military training time. Then they were punished again by having to clear out a storage room. There, however, Mick and his friends found many weapons buried. This shocking and controversial film, directed by British New Cinema stalwart Lindsay Anderson, won the Palme d'Or at the 1969 Cannes Film Festival. After seeing this film, director Stanley Kubrick cast Markham McDowell in the lead role in A Clockwork Orange ('72).
