Description
[Machine Translation] Hoshi is not me! In pursuit of the mysterious real murderer ... Inspector Jansen's great success! --Inspector Tom Valens ( D. Jansen ) was on a stakeout for a murderer when a man showed up with a gun and opened fire. The man was killed instantly, but was identified as a doctor, and the gun he was carrying was never found. The testimony of the old lady Alice ( L. Gish ) at the inquest into the cause of death revealed that the man had been visiting her for treatment. After the inquest, Valens was suspended and the case was brought to trial for manslaughter. The public's opinion of Valens, who had caused the death of a doctor who had been engaged in charitable activities, was strong, and he gradually became isolated from the public. At the apartment where the incident took place, Valens asks Alice to meet him, but she is unable to provide him with any new information. However, he discovered that there was a model who had disappeared since the day of the incident. Valens asks his wife Johnny ( J. Collins ), who is in the middle of divorce proceedings and works as a model photographer, for help. He learns some surprising information about the model from her. David Janssen, who became popular for his role in "The Fugitive" ('63-'67), plays a police inspector who, after a diligent investigation, gets closer to the truth in order to exonerate a falsely accused shooter. A jazzy score by Jerry Goldsmith adds to the atmosphere. The actresses co-star in this film are also splendid.
