Description
[Machine Translation] The MGM Musical Masterpieces series, long awaited by all musical fans to be released on DVD, is now available as a stand-alone release! In celebration of MGM's 50th anniversary, this anthology features 75 of the best scenes from 200 MGM musicals. The 125 masterpieces are narrated by 11 of MGM's greatest musical stars, including Frank Sinatra, Gene Kelly, Mickey Rooney, Fred Astaire, Bing Crosby, and many more. The film is filled with gems such as Astaire's intoxicating number with Sid Charice ("Bandwagon"), Kelly's fun tapping with Tom and Jerry ("Raise the Anchor"), and Esther Williams' gorgeous underwater show ("Queen of Swimwear"). Produced, directed and written by Jack Harry, Jr. (son of Jack Harry, who played the Tin Man in "The Wizard of Oz"). The music is by master musician Henry Mancini.
