¡HARRY POTTER & THE SORCERER'S STONE[Special Edition]
¡Movie

 Description
For those who have read the Harry Potter books, the movie works like a summarized overview. Nonetheless, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" is a well made adaptation of the first book, considering Chris Columbus and co. had to squeeze the gazillion-selling bestseller into a two and a half hour celluloid incarnation. It must have been tough to decide at pre-production stage what part to keep and what to let go, since the first book, read uncut at normal speed, would take at least 8 hours straight, as in actor Stephen Fry's brilliant audio book adaptation (which I've been recommending everybody to listen to). All in all, the movie is quite outstanding simply for its visualization and the choice of actors. The cast is impeccable, with the three young actors in the lead (Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson, as Harry, Ron & Hermione) and a host of others portraying their Hogwarts schoolmates, who are well matched by an array of screen veterans including Richard Harris, Maggie Smith, Robbie Coltrane, Alan Rickman, Ian Hart, Julie Walters as Ron's mom, John Cleese (who was a bit wasted as Nearly Headless Nick, but let's hope he'll have longer screen times in the sequels), and Richard Griffiths as the despicable Uncle Dursley. 2-disc set: Disc 1 with the main feature + Disc 2 with extras (DVD-ROM features included). Also available on VHS.
