Description
A suspenseful sci-fi show about a team of astronauts sent to Mars from our all-polluted dying planet to seek out not new life and new civilizations but to boldly go checking out the anomaly that occured during the terraforming process of the reddish planet which was essential for colonization. Things go awry as they have to in these movies when their spaceship go through a gamma ray storm and some of the ship's important-looking things that go blip are disabled. This prompts the team to land on the planet ahead of schedule by prematurely ejecting their lander with an all-male expedition crew from the mothership commanded by a female captain (paging Dr. Freud!). A first rate cast includes Carrie-Anne Moss as Commander Bowman (an obvious nod to 2001 A Space Odyssey), Val Kilmer as Gallagher (a futuristic comedian out to bash Martian watermelons), Tom Sizemore, Benjamin Bratt and the legendary Terence Stamp as a philosophic scientist turned scientific philosoper named Chantilas.
