Description
Uncut version of the acclaimed TV movie based on Stephen King's best-seller, directed by Tobe Hooper of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and "Poltergeist" fame. (I met him once at a film festival. A bloody nice chap, really.) This suspenseful vampire horror movie maintains high tension throughout without resorting to gore or big special effects. David Soul is surprisingly good as writer Ben Mears, and the late James Mason is brilliantly chilling as well as wickedly funny as Straker, the sinister antiques dealer. Also stars Bonnie Bedelia.
