¡Rawsthorne to Kisho na Sakuhin Shu (Japanese Title)
¡Classical V.A.

 Description
[Machine Translation] A collection of works by composer Alan Rossohn and his friends from Haslingden, Lancashire. Originally a dentist, he did not become a composer until after the age of 20, when he entered Manchester College of Music in 1925, where he studied cello, piano, and composition. After returning to England in 1932, Loossohn began composing energetically, and his "Theme and Variations for Two Violins" attracted attention at a concert at the Society of Arts and Music in London in 1938, establishing him as a composer. In this album, you can hear not only Lawthorne's works but also other rare works, and get an idea of the currents of British music in the first half of the 20th century. ( Performed by ) Claire Wilkinson ( Mezzo-soprano ) / Mark Rowlinson ( Narration ) / John Turner ( Recorder ) / Harvey Davies ( Harpsichord ) / Peter Lawson ( Piano ) / Stephanie Torres ( Cello ) / The Solem Quartet
