 Description
[Machine Translation] Why do we find our own lives in a song sung by a rock band? Why do we feel that "there is a place for us here" in the music sung by a rock band? Why do we find light and romance in the songs sung by rock bands? I suppose it would be absurd to ask such a question now, and moreover, during the past year or more, I have witnessed many times the fact that for some people, music is just something that is not necessary or urgent, not even a source of food, but still, I cannot put it into words or organize it well, and I feel that it is something that is somehow heavy on my heart. However, the music produced and played by rock bands has the power to scoop up the lees that have somehow accumulated heavily in our hearts and minds, and clear them out, and then step out again. Even if everything seems empty, even if you are fed up with everything, even if you feel like throwing up from anxiety and pain, rock bands have the power to bring back to life something that is akin to the romance of living, something akin to the light that you are longing for, and to make you overcome the present and reach for the future. A rock band has the power to make us overcome the present and reach for tomorrow. The rock band teto and their music embody the very essence of that power, and I strongly believe it again after listening to the completed album. This is their third album, "Ai to Ekibanashi" ("Love and Example"), their first since the release of "Surreal Supremacy Manifesto" in October 2019. The first three songs are a kicking off of a world that has become muddled in layers amidst a whirlpool of confusion and chaos, as if to swallow up all the stagnation, boredom, emptiness, sadness, and sadness and rush forward. The album begins with a tough and free band sound that screams and sings as words pour out in rapid succession, and drives on in an unrestrained trajectory, exhilaratingly cutting through the blur that hangs in front of them. Compared to their previous two albums, which contained 15 songs each, the number of songs on this album could be said to have been reduced, but the evolution and deepening of the band's sound that they have achieved along the way to this point are concentrated in this album.
