This is the second release on his Gargantua label. The bass trio's repertoire has expanded again. This is an album full of danceable "swing" with funky, powerful swells and grooves from Fujiwara's bass, and includes rock and pop hits such as "Venus," "20th Century Boys," "I'm a Believer," and "Summertime Blues. Recorded by Nick James and mastered by Grammy Award winner Sean Magee at Abbey Road Studios, London, as on the previous album. He started playing the bass at the age of 16 and moved to the U.S. in 1974. After graduating from Berklee College of Music and The Juilliard School, he made his U.S. debut at the age of 21 with the Horace Silver Quintet, and since then has been active in New York City. In the same year, he made his recording debut on the Muse and Strata East labels in the U.S. with albums by Clifford Jordan and Shamiekh Farah. Since forming his own group MG4 in 1987, he has released more than 10 albums for King Records and other labels, and in 2000 was voted No. 1 in the bass category by Swing Journal magazine. In recent years, he has been releasing CDs and giving concerts in Japan, and in 2013, he founded his own label, GARUGANTUA. In 2013, he founded his own label, GARUGANTUA, and also teaches at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music.
