¡Port of Notes
Description
[Machine Translation] After the release of "more than paradise" on July 30, 1999, Port of Notes is finally releasing their new album, a two-part series of EPs in two consecutive months. The first part, "more than paradise," is a four-song EP featuring three new songs in the classic Port of Notes style, plus a remix of a song previously released on a 12-inch analog release. The title track, which opens with a passionate acoustic guitar cut, is a killer tune with a majestic and expansive atmosphere that sounds like the winds and lands of the continent, overlapping with the phrase "Saraba Hometown Yo" (Saraba, Furusato Yo), and is a song by a former mute beat trumpeter, but no longer a lone trumpeter. The solo by Kazufumi Kodama, a former mute beat trumpeter, and the alto guitar and percussion by Takuji Aoyagi of Little Creatures add to the sense of scale. M3, a self-written version of a song he wrote for SAKURA, oozes a sense of the rustic, as if the early Cowboy Junkies were looking back on their past in Japan. M4 is a Balearic soundscape remix by Tomoki Kanda, a producer/composer whose first solo album, released on Crewel in January of this year, has been creating a quiet buzz.
