¡Kimi no Uta

 Description
[Machine Translation] D.W. Nichols has been playing timeless and universal music under the motto of "music that will not fade away even 10 years from now. Last spring, the band released their full-length album "Hello Yellow" to great acclaim, and in September, they held the largest outdoor one-man concert in their history at the Ueno Suijo Ongakudo Hall. In January of this year, they held their annual "New Year's Concert" at the Tokyo Globe Theater, which was sold out, and they are steadily increasing their fan base. D.W. Nichols has announced the release of two mini-albums this year, the first of which is "Kimi no Uta" (Songs of Kimi). The songs on this album are all related to "love. Nichols' songs can generally be described as "hymns to life," and "love" is a very important part of that life. Kimi no Uta" is a collection of love songs in the Nichols style, focusing on love. The six songs in this collection feature a variety of protagonists, depending on the song. A woman who is unsure of herself, a man who has just found a lover and is in high spirits, a man who is struggling with a secret love, a man who regrets not having taken the first step.... Although the main focus is on Watanabe's emotions, these love stories are written in life-size words without any embellishment, and we can imagine the detailed scenes of these loves. In addition, Watanabe's play on words and humor, which are scattered throughout the book, make each of the main characters seem very human and familiar. It could be you, or it could be someone next to you. As a result, even though this mini-album is a collection of love songs, it is a very Nichols-like work as usual. The lyrics of the songs can be described as "the love songs," but the songs are all slow ballad love songs, and the rest are upper tunes and mid-tempo songs with bouncy rhythms. The love stories on these energetic songs are sometimes even more poignant. In terms of sound, the album is a further step forward from the neo-country-pop line that Nichols has been pursuing in recent years, and the pop songs about love are colored with a sophisticated country flavor. Each song has its own unique sound, until you hear the Japanese lyrics.
