¡Stars In Arena
¡V.A.

 Description
[Machine Translation] STARS" and "DEATH IN THE ARENA", both hits from the STUDIO ONE era, are remade by Jamaica's leading track makers, STEELY&CLEVIE. The first one is "BIG TUNE," a faithful arrangement of the original "STARS" rhythm, and the title number of the rhythm, "STARS," is a reprise by CORNEL CAMPBELL himself, with LOUIE CULTURE's DEEJAY. The versatile singer DA'VILLE sings a love song with a beautiful melody. Dancehall singer ANTHONY CRUZ takes inspiration from SUGAR MINOTT's hit songs, but digests and absorbs them beautifully. The SUGAR MINOTT is a conscious lyricist of the latest dancehall phrases. Veteran DEEJAY, JOSE WALES, uses phrases from classic songs of yesteryear as punchlines for his RUB-A-DUB tune. And a solo version of CORNEL CAMPBELL's reprise of the original. LINVAL THOMPSON reprises his hit on the same rhythm, and SUGAR sings advice to the youth. NAHKI, who is both a singer and a deejay, excels in the chorus. CORNEL CAMPBELL recorded his first new song in several years. DA'VILLE, who did all the chorus work himself. JOSE WALES is back on the RUB-A-DUB style rhythm. And a combination version of "TRAINTO ZION", a hit song from the past revived with the artists' voices as they are. The fact that both of these songs are still relevant today is a testament to the skills of Steely & Cleavie.
