¡Rain Man's Story - Tale of Two
¡Yoshichika Tarue feat.Tomokaz
Description
[Machine Translation] (SHM-CD) This is the second solo album by indigo jam unit pianist Yoshiya Taruei, a sequel to "Rain Man's Story," which was produced in 2010 as a soundtrack for a fictional movie called "Rain Man's Story. This time, Tomokazu Sugimoto, a Jazz bassist active both in Japan and abroad, joins him for this duo album. (As with the previous album, the recording was done at a 500-seat concert hall with beautiful acoustics. The clear sound of the Stanway Full Concert piano, which has been carefully stored in the piano cabinet, and the graceful and powerful double basses make the recording a story. The 12 pieces are a story, so they were performed in order, and all were recorded only once, with only 4 microphones in each location, without any modification, mixing, or volume adjustment. Please enjoy the sound of the performers as they play, the natural echoes of the high-ceilinged concert hall, the sound of the pedals, and the sound of the music being turned over. ( comments by the performer ) A story of a rainy man. With the addition of a contrabass. This time, there will be scenes of heavy rain and clear skies in addition to the pouring rain. The composer himself imagines the story after he lays out the music. What stories do you imagine when you listen to this album? I hope you enjoy listening to the story played by piano and contrabass. ( Yoshiya Taruei ) *Points for listening You will hear the sound of the piano penetrate from the front right diagonally to the back left. The bass guitar sound is flying from the front left to the right. Since no reverb is applied, the sound is very spacious. The part about 2 to 3 minutes into the 8th track is completely improvised, or rather, nothing is decided, but I actually got goosebumps while listening to it. Yoshiya Taruei (pf) was born in 1974 and started playing the piano at the age of 20. In 2005, he formed indigo jam unit. In 2010, he released his solo album Rain Man's Story. Tomokazu Sugimoto (contrabass) studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston in 1988 after graduating from high school. After graduation, Sugimoto moved to New York City and performed in New York City for 1 year.
