Description
The '90s (Heisei) Gamera trilogy is out on DVD! The first Heisei Gamera movie was produced to commemorate the big turtle's 30th birthday, and he kicked the popularity-waning Teen Mutant Ninja Turtles' butts right off the scene. Now, at thirty-something and about the same age as Ben Stiller (though different upbringings and life experiences clearly mark their distinctive acting styles... Gamera's adherence to method acting is well perceived among monster flick connoisseurs), he's popular as ever with two excellent sequels under his belt. The brilliant second sequel features a poignant sub-plot of a girl who lost her parents as the result of Gamera's battle in the previous movie.
