Description
Digitally restored DVD release of the classical film "Gate of Hell (Jigokumon)" directed by Teinosuke Kinugasa. It won the Palme d'Or grand prize award at the 1954 Cannes Film Festival, a 1955 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, and more. Stars Kazuo Hasegawa and Machiko Kyo. It tells the story of a samurai who tries to marry woman he rescues, only to discover that she is already married to someone else.
