 Description
[Machine Translation] The Nutcracker" is a classic Christmas ballet with many versions. Patrice Barre, a former member of the Paris Opera Ballet, shows us her Christmas Eve dream. It is a happy memory of her mother when she was a child. The main character, Marie (that is her name in the original story), is actually a princess of a grand duchy, but due to an unfortunate incident, she has sealed her memory and spends her time as the daughter of the Stahlbaum family. One Christmas night, Drosselmayr's magic brings back her lost memories, and she is reunited with her mother in a dream world (the Ice Palace), where she spends a beautiful time and is freed from her painful past. Her mother wants Marie to marry the prince, but how will it end? The Prince, who is the reason Marie regains her memory of "The Nutcracker," is played by Vladimir Malakhov, a nobleman who has now become the artistic director of the Berlin State Ballet. Marie is played by Nadja Saidakova, and Beatrice Knopf dances as Marie's mother, who is the master of the icy palace in her dream (generally known as the spirit of kompeito), two dancers who also gave wonderful performances at the 2010 tour of Japan. Oliver Matz, who dances with a steady step but with a bewitching charm, is also a presence that one cannot take one's eyes off. The conductor is the famous Daniel Barenboim. The ballet performance is of course wonderful, but even if you listen to the music alone, you will be drawn in by the beautiful performance. Recorded in 1999 at the Berlin State Opera
