¡Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky / Pictures At An Exhibition
¡Kanagawa University Symphonic Band

 Description
[Machine Translation] The Godai Brass Band takes on a brilliant masterpiece in the history of music. This special disc also includes a live performance of the Bankuri! At its 55th regular concert in January 2020, the Kanagawa University Symphonic Band presented a sturdy program featuring Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition" as its main work. The ability of the Kanagawa University Symphonic Band to perform a difficult piece that requires a high level of musicality and technique from each part is impressive. The tuba concerto with Yuya Tamura as soloist was a rhythmical and friendly piece full of songfulness. Tamura's virtuoso expression makes the audience forget that he is a tuba player. This album also includes a special performance from the 50th Japan Band Clinic in 2019. The day after the historic performance by the U.S. Marine Corps Band, the band performed on the same stage. The concert hall was filled with emotion when Haga Suguru's "Gradient Sky Reflected on the Water" won the first prize at the Coudouvin International Symphonic Band Composition Contest. The composer's wish, "I believe that the tears falling on the surface of the water will one day connect the world with a single gradation, just like the boundless sky and the surface of the water," will surely touch the hearts of people all over the world. Recorded on January 5, 2020 and May 18, 2019 at Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space and Act City Hamamatsu Hall.
