¡Zemlinsky: Opera "Eine florentinische Tragodie"
¡Classical V.A.

 Description
[Machine Translation] The story is a verismo-style tale of a three-way struggle between Simone, a Florentine merchant, his wife Bianca, and Bianca's lover, Guido Baldi. The story, however, is different from other verismo-style operas in that it ends with the wife falling in love with the husband who has taken her lover, saying, "I never knew you were so wonderful. Conductor Bertrand de Billy plays the work with the same fluid and seamless tension as in Richard Strauss's "Salome". Recorded by the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra in 2010.
