Description
"Yuzuru Hanyu notte stellata" was created as a tribute to the Great East Japan Earthquake. This is the second time Yuzuru Hanyu has performed this in Japan, following the previous year. Please watch the beautiful and moving ice show and the message from Yuzuru Hanyu in this work. The main disc features first-class entertainment by top Japanese and international skaters, including Yuzuru Hanyu, Javier Fernandez, Jason Brown, Shae-Lynn Bourne-Tullock, and Tomoko Miyahara. In addition, actress Mao Daichi was invited as a special guest to express a new world view through the beautiful movements of Daichi on stage and Hanyu on ice. The bonus disc includes one-camera footage of Yuzuru Hanyu's performance from two angles, highlights of the performances on March 8 and 9, and pre-production rehearsals on March 9 and 10. The title of the performance, "notte stellata" means "full of stars" in Italian. The name was inspired by Yuzuru Hanyu's own experience of looking up at the sky on his way to an evacuation center in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture on March 11, 2011, and seeing a "full sky of stars" in the darkness of the blackout, which he could not normally see. The ice show was held with the hope that "like the stars that lit up the disaster-stricken areas, this show would send out hope and bring a smile to the faces of the people."
