Description
Set in the near future, Japan has an aging society with a declining birthrate, and a social system called "Plan 75" comes into effect, giving people the right to choose life and death from the age of 75. Using this fictional system as a medium, a shocking film was born that asks all generations to consider the ultimate theme of "life". Directed and written by Chie Hayakawa, who shot the short film "PLAN75," the starting point for this film, in the omnibus film "10 Nen Ten Years Japan" released in 2018, under the overall supervision of Hirokazu Koreeda. This is her first feature film as a director, but it was officially entered in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2022 Cannes International Film Festival and received the Camera d'Or Special Mention. Starring Chieko Baisho.
