He is a natural born windbag who shows off his fighting skills and saves a girl, Sachi, from being bullied by the yakuza. Tange Danpei, a fist-fighting fanatic, sees this and offers him a career in boxing, but he summarily rejects the offer. After sinking under Rikiishi's punches and experiencing his first sense of defeat, he suddenly becomes interested in boxing and decides to undergo special training with Danpei.
