Description
Five years since 'Ghost In the Shell (Koukaku Kidoutai)', Director Mamoru Oshii once again shows us what the future of cinema would be like, crossing over visual and technical boundaries. Oshii (Ghost in the Shell, the Patlabor films) and co. spent 2 years in the making of this brilliant sci-fi action film whose 6-million dollar budget is quite high for a Japanese movie. Thanks to the cooperation of the Polish armed forces who provided firearms, tanks and other hardware for the production of the film, some awsome reality is added to the battle scenes. The unique principle of Oshii's production method for the whole film was to digitalize all materials (live action, CGI, animated) and reconstruct them on computers. The film was specially presented at the 54th Cannes Film Festival. The movie is in the original Polish language. [Dolby Digital Surround EX] A booklet is attached.
