Features English subtitles. Plot: A prisoner has completed his 13-year sentence in Asahikawa Prison. The man, Masao Mikami gets on a bus to Tokyo, where he is welcomed by his underwriter and his wife. At the same time, Tsunoda, a young man who has just quit a TV production company and aspires to be a novelist, receives a job offer from Yoshizawa, a successful TV producer. The subject of the interview is Mikami. Yoshizawa envisions a story in which Mikami, an ex-convict, changes his mind, returns to society, and is tearfully reunited with the mother he left behind, and wants to make it into a moving documentary.
