Description
DVD release of the live-action film "Kakekomi (Kakekomi Onna to Kakedashi Otoko)" based on the novel written by Hisashi Inoue of "The Face of Jizo." Erika Toda and Yo Oizumi play the leading roles. Features English Subtitles. Plot: Set in the Edo period when a thrift ordinance is issued by the government and the lives of ordinary people get worse. At that time, women, who want to divorce, need to run to a Buddhist temple, Tokei-ji where is authorized by the shogunate as refuge for women abused by their husbands.
