Description
Kazuo Kuroko directs the film version of the famous stage play. The story is about a father and his daughter, separated by the atomic bomb in Hiroshima, but later "reunited." Sad but humorous dialogue is brilliantly delivered by renowned actors Rie Miyazawa, Yoshio Harada and Tadanobu Asano. Author Hisashi Inoue does not intend this to be an argument of the political relations between the country who dropped the bomb and the country which was bombed ? the plot simply depicts the bomb's formidable destructive power that lingers even today, six decades later, as a great tragedy. Both the stage and film versions have received high praise from all that have seen it thanks to its powerful message.
