 Description
Best-selling author, Shogo Sato has a distinctive style of mixing romance with mystery, suspense, or even science fiction. "Jump" based on a novel of the same name, received numerous offers for the filming rights; not unusual for a novel by Sato, famous for his eerie but romantic love stories. The film is about an ordinary salary man, Junosuke, and his search for his lover, Miharu, who disappeared one night when she handed him the key to her room, and promised to be back in five minutes. She had only gone out to buy apples at the nearby convenience store, because Junosuke ate it for breakfast every morning. Slightly drunk from a strangely named cocktail he had had earlier, Junosuke falls asleep, and wakes up the next morning to find that Miharu had never returned. As the truth behind Miharu's disappearance is gradually uncovered, Junosuke finds himself asking, "What if..." even as he knows, there is never a way to jump back in time. The question this film throws at the audience on the other hand is, what if the lover you believed to be the closest, was actually the most distant... Yuko Fueki, whose fast growing fame has reached Korea, where she is referred to as "Yumin," plays Miharu.
