Description
[Machine Translation] The year is 1910, the "eve of revolution" leading to the dawn of the modern Chinese state. Set on the Malaysian island of Penang in exile, this sweeping historical romance depicts the struggle and love of the world-famous revolutionary Sun Yat-sen, who never lost his ideals, supported by his loved ones, despite the hardships and disappointments of repeated revolutionary failures and the danger of assassination. The film adaptation of Sun Yat-sen, a shining Asian treasure, brings together the talents of the Greater China region! Winston Chao, who also played Sun Yat-sen in "Three Sisters of the Soke", Angelica Lee, a singer from Malaysia, and Chao Chong, a young and talented Chinese actor, add color to this turbulent drama. The director was nominated for eight Hong Kong Film Awards for "Three Wounded Police," and his film "Tianyuan" was selected for the Berlin International Film Festival. The film is directed by Derek Chiu, one of the leading directors of the Hong Kong New Wave, who also directed "Brothers" starring Andy Lau and Eason Chen.
