 Description
[Machine Translation] This is the story of young Goethe's beautiful but unfulfilled love hidden in "The Sorrows of Young Werther," the eternal love story that made Goethe famous overnight. --Goethe, 23, was studying law and dreamed of becoming a writer. However, his talent was not recognized, and his father sent him to work as an intern at a country court. One day, Goethe goes to a ball with a friend and bumps into a drunken young woman who sprays wine on his clothes. Goethe is angry at the young woman for being so crass, but when he sees her singing at mass in the chapel, as noble and beautiful as a different person, he is captivated. Her name is Charlotte. They immediately fall in love, and Lotte becomes Goethe's first discoverer of his literary talent. However, Lotte's father has a marriage proposal in mind. In order to support her large family, Lotte agrees to marry a wealthy man. Goethe is devastated when she learns the truth. Furthermore, the suicide of his friend, who was heartbroken by a married woman, catches up with Goethe. However, at the end of his despair, Goethe grabs not a gun but a pen. Goethe begins to write single-mindedly. He begins to write a heart-wrenching love story between his alter ego, whom he names Werther, and Lotte.
