¡Classical V.A.

 Description
[Machine Translation] The Bach Foundation Orchestra and Choir of St. Gallen presents its first non-Bach album, Handel's complete oratorio "The Vigorous, the Pensive, the Mild". The first two parts of the oratorio, based on a poem by John Milton, feature the "Pleasant Man" praising the countryside and town life, the "Pensive Man" celebrating inner joy, and the third part, based on a poem by Handel's friend Jennens, features the "Temperate Man," and the "Pleasant Man" and "Temperate Man" are the two most important works in the history of the English oratorio. In the third part, which uses a poem by Handel's friend Jenens, "The Vivacious One" and "The Pensive One" propose to appreciate each other's virtues. This is Handel's masterpiece, interspersed with flowing Italianate melodies.
