¡Fazil Say: Istanbul Symphony[CD+DVD]
¡Fazil Say (piano)

 Description
[Machine Translation] This is a commemorative disc of the visit to Japan by the brilliant composer-pianist Fazil Say. Istanbul Symphony", Fazil Say's first symphonic work, is the longest and largest scale symphony ever recorded. It is a magnificent music that seems to condense Istanbul, a city of culture and history, both ancient and modern. On the other hand, the concerto "Hezarfen," which features a soloist on the ney, a traditional Turkish flute, is modeled on Hezarfen Ahmet Celebi, who became the first "bird man" in human history in the first half of the 17th century. The work is a personal projection of his life, unbounded by anything, onto Hesarfen, who glided through the sky on wings. The DVD includes a documentary on Symphony No. 1, Op. 28 "Istanbul" and performance scenes.
