A thoroughly underrated (as well as nearly forgotten) animated masterpiece directed by Rene Laloux (The Fantastic Planet, also a classic) with production & character design by France's BD (comic) aritst extraordinaire, Moebius (aka Jean Giraud) who worked on such films as Blade Runner, Tron and The Fifth Element as a designer. An animated film unlike any from Japan or the U.S. Also available on VHS.
