Description
The sequel of Shohei Imamura's "The Ballad of Narayama (Narayama Bushiko)," the winner of Palme d'Or at the 1983 Cannes Film Festival, "Dendera" is created by Imamura's son Daisuke Tengan. Stars Ruriko Asaoka. Plot: Elderly women were supposed to be abandoned and die on a snow covered mountain, but they secretly survive and build their own village named Dendera. Some of them want to live their remaining days in peace, but others seek revenge against the villagers who abandoned them. A new face of this village, Kayu who has accepted to be abandoned as routine, unexpectedly starts to live freely.
