Description
David Cronenberg's "Naked Lunch" is in essence a rehash of his classic "Videodrome" which was itself heavily influenced by the works of William S. Burroughs to start out with. Cronenberg's screenplay is based partly on the books by Burroughs including the title work, and partly on the life of Burroughs. This fascinating film allows the viewer to experience the narcotic-fuelled Interzone fantasies through WIlliam Lee's (Peter Weller) eyes and mind. The perennially underrated Judy Davis co-stars, with Ian Holm, Julian Sands, and Roy Scheider.
