Description
This remarkable movie from acclaimed director Anh Hung Tran (The Scent of the Green Papaya) was a long-running hit in Japan. It tells the stories of three sisters who have gathered for an anniversary of their mother's death. Tran, the Vietnamese born filmmaker from France, was heavily influenced by the works of Robert Bresson, which shows in his deliberate pacing and minimalist style, employing lyrical, sensuous cinematography.
