FAREWELL TO MY CONCUBINE (Ba wang bie ji) (1993)' won the 1993 Golden Palm at the Cannes Film Festivsl. Directed by Chen Kaige and starring Leslie Cheung it's a story of two men who met as apprentices in the Peking Opera. In this film, homosexuality was depicted for the first time in Chinese cinema. A superbly directed and acted epic drama.
