 Description
[Machine Translation] Winner of the Golden Leopard at the Locarno International Film Festival 2009 (top prize) ! Winner of the Best Screenplay Award at the 2009 Hamburg Film Festival! The exciting life of a modern, carnivorous Chinese woman, as portrayed by a female Chinese director! --Mei comes to Chongqing from a small village deep in the mountains in search of the hustle and bustle, but her life is very different from what she had dreamed of. She is soon fired from her factory, finds work in a seedy barbershop, and falls in love with Spikey, a gangster who lives nearby. But it doesn't last long, and one night late at night, Spikey returns home with a fatal wound to his back and dies right before her eyes. May scraped together enough money to escape her pursuers and traveled to London, a place Spikey had long admired. There she meets and marries an old man named Hunt, but soon realizes that her life is mundane and boring. The old Hunt reads the newspaper when he goes for a walk along the river, and refuses to move when he sunbathes in the garden. Young May can't stand it, so she moves in with Richard, an Indian immigrant who runs a small restaurant. Richard suddenly announces that he is going back to India, and May is already pregnant with his child...
