¡Veracini: Violin Sonata
¡Classical V.A.
Description
[Machine Translation] The long-awaited re-release of Enrico Gatti's Veracini, which has long been unavailable, although it is a masterpiece representing the early years of the ARCANA label. The Italian composer, who had a tumultuous life, including a stint at the Dresden court where Bach admired him, sings his masterpieces, composed when he was still a virtuoso in his own right, with a pleasantly propulsive and lustrous tone. The harpsichord is played by Marco Bisley, now a "magician of the voice," and Guido Morini, an intellect known as the brilliant leader of the Accordone group, while cellist Alain Gervreau plays an instrument designed by Charles Richet, who has unique insight into the reproduction of historical bass string instruments. Recorded in March 1994.
