¡Toshio Hosokawa: Orchestral Works . 3
¡Classical V.A.
Description
[Machine Translation] The Great East Japan Earthquake of 2011 had a profound effect on composer Toshio Hosokawa. Hosokawa, who strives to express the unity of mankind and nature and their beautiful interactions through music, composed several pieces of music in response to this tragedy, conveying once again the ferocity and horror of nature. The melody of "Plesso", which grows into a quiet song of sorrow over the rhythm of the big drum, is a memorial through music. In "After the Storm," two sopranos sing a shaman's prayer. Lament, based on a poem by Salzburg-born poet Georg Trakl, is a lament that echoes across the dark sea. (Commissioned by the Salzburg Festival in 2013, the work was revised in 2015 for Mihoko Fujimura, who is also the soloist on this album. ) "Autumn Breeze" depicts the relationship between man and nature with shakuhachi and orchestral ensemble. These four works will deeply impress all listeners and raise sharp questions. [Performer: Suzanne Elmark, Ilse Ahrens, Mihoko Fujimura, Naoshi Tajima
