¡Turina: Piano Works Vol.13
¡Jordi Maso

 Description
[Machine Translation] Born in Seville, Turina acquired a refined style in Paris, where he studied from 1905 to 1914, and at the same time was strongly influenced by impressionist music. He was so influenced by Impressionist music that Albeniz once told him to "be more aware of your Spanish nationality. However, after his return to Japan in 1914, he produced passionate works incorporating Andalusian folk songs, and "Sanlucar de Barrameda," included in this album, is considered one of his masterpieces. The music is even more eloquent and complex in structure than the picturesque sonata entitled "Sonata de la Pintura", which describes the scenery of a charming coastal city near the mouth of the Guadalquivir River in Andalusia. The "Trilogy" is dedicated to the memory of Turina's daughter who died at an early age, while the unfinished "Seven Pains of the Virgin Mary" is a prayer. The thirteenth volume of Jordi Maso's complete piano works by Turina is the last in the series.
